Sailor Neptune!

I put this together in under a week before A-kon this year, in a massive loss of reason.
My friends and I were going to do the Outers but half of them bailed so we decided to shelve the project. Only problem was that I really wanted a new costume for Akon and I'd been researching Sailor Fukus since last year so one thing led to another and I cranked out this costume in around ~3-4 days leading up to Akon. Most of the pieces are held to each over with safety pins, although the skirt and collar are very well made (for some reason it seemed like a good idea to serge my seams at 2am the day before the con when I still had half a costume to make??). I repleated that bloody skirt 4 times before I accepted that I didn't have time for another go and I re-did the hem 3 times too since I couldn't get it to lay properly.
Anyway, there are several things I want to improve (and several things that won't need improving once they've been attached correctly) when I make another fuku (because there must be more)!

For the most part I used Cupcake Cosplay's Sailor Fuku tutorial with modifications as I went to various things (my rolls were made differently and I drafted my own leotard pattern). The boob/but bows are made with craftfoam covered in fabric and my boob armor is made in the same fashion as Euphoria Laudestil's). I may try to come up with a full walkthrough but, knowing how bad I am about doing ~things~, I won't make any promises.

I ran into this Sailor Uranus (doctorwotwot/doctorbofurbooty on tumblr) during the convention and her photographer friend (tk-the-tiger on tumblr) got some lovely shots of us (as well as her friends as Mercury, Venus and Saturn)! I'm so thankful they invited me to have a mini photoshoot with them, otherwise I'd have pretty much zero good photos of this costume.
